Public Water Systems/ Local Health Directors:
Due to the heavy rainstorm expected to hit the State this weekend, the Connecticut Department of Public Health would like to refer you to the two attached documents to assist you in any flooding issues you may confront the next few days.
Public Water Systems- The Department encourages all public water systems to report any flooding that is threatening sources of supply and/or the accessibility of water system facilities. It is recommended that all public water systems impacted closely monitor disinfection treatment operation and consider issuing a boil water notice to consumers if any treatment facility or source of supply has been flooded. Prior to issuing any notice to consumers, contact the Department of Public Health –Drinking Water Section at 860-509-7333 during business hours or 860-509-8000 after hours.
