I am a military veteran; am I eligible for any tax breaks on my City Property Tax?

There are 2 programs for Veterans - both are based on income limits - 1. Additional Veterans program - the income limits are $33,500 for a single person and $40,900 for a married couple - The benefit is between 2,000 -6,000 off the assessment of their house or vehicle.- (the amount depends on their veteran status).

The 2nd program is a local program- the income limits are $58,000 for a single person and $65,900 for a married couple. This benefit is 10% off the assessment of your house or vehicle

Applications are from February 1 through October 1 each year. For this year, taxpayers need to bring in a copy of their 2012 income tax return and a copy of their 1099 from Social Security (if applicable)

The veteran should have their DD-214 honorable discharge filed in the Town Clerk's Office and they had to of served during war time.
